Kansanshi Dynamos Football Club have officially parted ways with head coach Zeddy Saileti and his assistants Makundika Sakala and Andrew Themba Mwanza following a difficult start to their 2024/25 MTN Super League campaign. The decision comes as the Solwezi-based side seeks to strengthen its technical bench after collecting just six points from nine matches.
The departure of Coach Saileti marks the end of a short but significant chapter for Kansanshi Dynamos, who returned to the MTN Super League this season after securing promotion from the National Division One League. Saileti, alongside assistants Mwanza and Sakala, played a crucial role in guiding the team to a second-place finish last season — a feat that earned them a ticket back to Zambia’s top flight.
In an official statement, the club expressed its appreciation to the outgoing technical team, stating that it was “grateful for their dedication and service” and wished them success in their future endeavours. Despite their efforts, Kansanshi Dynamos have struggled to find consistency in the league, prompting the club to act in hopes of turning around their season.
As part of the restructuring, the club has appointed Coach Yoram Kasempa as Second Assistant Coach and interim head of the technical team. Kasempa has penned a one-year-six-month contract and will lead the team while the club finalises a permanent coaching setup.
Kasempa brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously managed Ndola United and served at Zamtel FC, Quatro FC, ZESCO Solwezi, and FQML Roads. He will be assisted by Physical Trainer Buchizya Mfune and Goalkeeper Trainer Humphrey Kapoma, who both continue in their respective roles.
In welcoming the new coach, Kansanshi Dynamos expressed optimism that Kasempa’s arrival would inspire improved performances and stability within the squad. “The club looks forward to Coach Kasempa’s contribution and warmly welcomes him to the Kansanshi Dynamos family,” the statement concluded.
With nine games already played, Kansanshi Dynamos find themselves near the lower end of the MTN Super League table, making the upcoming fixtures critical for their survival hopes. Fans will now be eager to see whether Kasempa can inject the energy and tactical discipline needed to steer the team to safety.
Conclusion:
The managerial change at Kansanshi Dynamos underscores the club’s determination to remain competitive in the MTN Super League. As Coach Yoram Kasempa takes charge on an interim basis, all eyes will be on how quickly he can stabilise the team and reignite their campaign. The next few weeks could prove decisive for the Solwezi side’s season trajectory.
