Kansanshi Dynamos Football Club capped off a remarkable 2024/25 season with an emotional and inspiring awards ceremony held at Brenda’s Events in Solwezi, celebrating their promotion back to the MTN Super League.
The festive evening brought together players, staff, fans, and key stakeholders to reflect on a campaign defined by unity, resilience, and ambition. The Mabanga Boys put on a solid display throughout the season, earning their place among Zambia’s elite football clubs once again.
Kizito Keziron Shines Bright
The night belonged to midfield maestro Kizito Keziron, who walked away with two major accolades – Player of the Season and Most Consistent Player. Keziron’s leadership, work rate, and tactical intelligence made him an indispensable part of Kansanshi’s successful campaign.
“Kizito’s influence on and off the ball has been nothing short of phenomenal,” one club official noted. “He anchored the midfield and inspired those around him.”

Recognizing Growth and Leadership
Young midfielder Martin Alufonso was named Most Improved Player, having shown great strides in his development and on-field impact. Meanwhile, Rodger Chitambala earned the Disciplined Player award for his composure, professionalism, and exemplary conduct throughout the season.
Team captain Rodger Lukonde received the Most Inspirational Player award. His leadership helped Kansanshi navigate through both challenges and victories, earning respect across the dressing room.
Rising star Mathews Mwale was recognised as the Most Promising Player – a clear sign that the club’s future is in good hands.
Strikers and Supporters Take the Spotlight
For their clinical edge in front of goal, Dalitso Lungu and Kalonji T. Mwepu shared the Top Scorer award after both found the net nine times each. Their goals were instrumental in propelling the team forward throughout the campaign.
The President’s Award, one of the night’s most prestigious honours, was jointly awarded to Mike Zozi and Remmy Chanda, who were recognized for their outstanding behind-the-scenes contributions.
The club also lauded its Media Department as the Most Consistent Department, acknowledging their storytelling, fan engagement, and dedication to growing the club’s brand.
In a heartfelt moment, the 12th Player Recognition award went to the loyal Kansanshi Dynamos supporters for their unwavering presence and passion that fueled the team across the season.
“We’re Not Just Back—We’re Here to Compete”
Club President Mr. Douglas Nyirenda took to the podium with a bold statement for the coming season:
“Earning our place back in the prestigious MTN Super League is a milestone we should not take lightly. It was no accident—it was the result of months of hard work through your spirit of resilience, unity, and ambition,” he said.
“As we prepare to return to the MTN Super League, let it be clear—we are not going there just to participate, but to compete, because that is where this club truly belongs.”
