2024 U-17 FIFA Women’s World Cup: Zambia Drawn in Group D
Zambia has been placed in Group D for the 2024 U-17 FIFA Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic. We shall face strong competition from Japan, Poland, and Brazil.
Group D Teams:
Japan
Poland
Brazil
Zambia
Japan is traditionally a powerhouse in women’s football at all levels. Known for their technical prowess, disciplined play, and tactical intelligence, Japan’s youth teams have consistently performed well in international tournaments. Zambia will need to be at our best to compete against the Japanese team.
Poland’s women’s football has been on the rise, with increasing investment in youth development. While not as historically dominant as Japan, Poland’s team is likely to be well-organized and physically robust. Zambia’s speed and agility will be crucial to outmaneuver the Polish defense.
Brazil brings flair, creativity, and an attacking mindset to the game. Known for producing world-class talent, Brazil’s youth teams are no exception. Zambia’s defense will need to be vigilant to handle Brazil’s dynamic forwards. However, Brazil’s aggressive style can leave them vulnerable to counter-attacks, which Zambia can exploit.
Zambia has shown significant promise and growth in women’s football. Our qualification for the U-17 World Cup is a testament to their improving standards. With a mix of skillful players and physical strength, Zambia can be a formidable opponent. Key to our success will be disciplined defending and effective use of counter-attacks against stronger opponents.
