MTN Super League side ZANACO FC have completed the signing of defender Burton Chambeshi from Mufulira Wanderers on a free transfer.
The Bankers confirmed the acquisition after the defender signed a two-and-a-half-year contract, keeping him at Sunset Stadium until the end of 2028.
Chambeshi joins ZANACO following the expiry of his contract with the Mighty Maite, becoming one of the club’s latest additions ahead of the 2026/27 MTN Super League season.
New Challenge for Chambeshi
The move marks a fresh chapter in Chambeshi’s career after his spell with Mufulira Wanderers.
The defender established himself as a reliable performer during his time at Shinde Stadium, earning recognition for his defensive discipline, composure on the ball and ability to read the game.
His experience in the MTN Super League is expected to strengthen ZANACO’s defensive options as the Bankers continue rebuilding their squad.
Part of ZANACO’s Recruitment Drive
Chambeshi is among several new arrivals at ZANACO as head coach Numba Mumamba prepares for the upcoming campaign.
The Bankers have been active in the transfer market, reinforcing key areas of the squad as they seek to challenge for domestic honours.
With his arrival, ZANACO continues to add quality and experience to a team determined to compete at the highest level.
Looking Ahead
Chambeshi will now begin pre-season with his new teammates as he looks to establish himself in the Bankers’ starting XI.
The defender will be hoping to make an immediate impact and help ZANACO improve on last season’s performances.
Conclusion
Burton Chambeshi’s move to ZANACO represents another important addition for the Bankers as they continue strengthening ahead of the new season.
After leaving Mufulira Wanderers upon the expiry of his contract, the experienced defender now has the opportunity to begin a new chapter in Lusaka and contribute to ZANACO’s ambitions in the MTN Super League.
