MTN Super League side ZANACO FC have confirmed the signing of Joseph Kiala Wa Kiala, Barton Chambeshi and David Bulaya, taking the club’s total number of new arrivals to six ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The trio has each signed two-and-a-half-year contracts with the Bankers as head coach Numba Mumamba continues to strengthen his squad for the new campaign.
The latest additions follow the earlier arrivals of Francis Banda, Clement Mundia and Simon Tonga, underlining ZANACO’s ambition to assemble a competitive squad capable of challenging for honours.
Three New Faces Join the Bankers
In a statement, ZANACO confirmed the acquisition of the three players as part of the club’s ongoing recruitment drive.
“Zanaco Football Club is delighted to announce the acquisition of Joseph Kiala Wa Kiala, Barton Chambeshi, and David Bulaya on two-and-a-half-year (2 years, 6 months) contracts as part of the Club’s continued efforts to strengthen the squad ahead of the upcoming season.”
The club believes the trio will add quality, experience and depth across different areas of the team.
Kiala Wa Kiala Makes the Move
Congolese defender Joseph Kiala Wa Kiala joins the Bankers from Mutondo Stars, where he established himself as one of the club’s key defensive players.
His arrival is expected to bolster ZANACO’s backline with his strength, composure and defensive versatility.
Chambeshi Switches from Wanderers
Defender Barton Chambeshi arrives from Mufulira Wanderers, bringing valuable MTN Super League experience to the Lusaka-based club.
The highly-rated defender will be hoping to establish himself as a regular starter as ZANACO looks to improve on last season’s performances.
Bulaya Returns as Free Agent
Meanwhile, midfielder David Bulaya joins ZANACO as a free agent following the expiry of his stay at NAPSA Stars.
Bulaya’s experience in the Zambian top flight is expected to provide additional competition and creativity in midfield.
Six New Signings Confirmed
With the latest arrivals, ZANACO have now completed the signing of:
- Francis Banda
- Clement Mundia
- Simon Tonga
- Joseph Kiala Wa Kiala
- Barton Chambeshi
- David Bulaya
The recruitment reflects the club’s determination to build a squad capable of competing at the highest level in the 2026/27 MTN Super League season.
Looking Ahead
The Bankers will be hoping the new additions quickly settle into the squad as preparations for the new campaign continue.
With six new signings already secured, expectations will be high for Numba Mumamba’s side as they aim to return to the upper end of the MTN Super League table.
Conclusion
ZANACO have made a clear statement of intent in the transfer market by strengthening every area of the squad.
