Red Arrows forward Albert Kangwanda has been named the 2025/26 MTN Super League Player of the Season following an outstanding campaign that saw him lead the Airmen to a second-place finish and ABSA Cup glory.
The former Kafue Celtic striker emerged victorious ahead of Power Dynamos goal machine Moses Shumah and Kabwe Warriors goalkeeper Mangani Banda to claim the league’s most prestigious individual award.
Kangwanda’s exceptional performances throughout the season made him one of the standout players in Zambian football, finishing the campaign with 13 league goals and several assists.
Kangwanda Rewarded for Outstanding Campaign
The forward was instrumental in Red Arrows’ successful season, helping the club challenge for the league title before securing qualification for continental football through their ABSA Cup triumph.
His goals, creativity, and consistency made him a key figure in one of the league’s strongest teams.
The Player of the Season award now crowns what has undoubtedly been the finest season of Kangwanda’s professional career.
Power Dynamos Dominate Awards Night
Although Kangwanda claimed the top individual honour, league champions Power Dynamos dominated the awards ceremony held in Kitwe.
The Kitwe giants collected multiple accolades following another successful campaign that saw them retain the MTN Super League title.
Kenyan striker Moses Shumah added to his impressive season by winning both the Top Goal Scorer Award and Fans’ Player of the Season.
Shumah finished the league campaign with 21 goals and was one of the driving forces behind Power Dynamos’ title-winning success.
Meanwhile, Power Dynamos head coach Osward Mutapa successfully retained the Coach of the Season award after guiding the club to another championship.
Mangani Banda Recognised
Kabwe Warriors goalkeeper Mangani Banda was rewarded for his exceptional season by winning the Goalkeeper of the Season award.
The shot-stopper finished the campaign with a league-leading 17 clean sheets and also secured the Golden Glove Award.
His performances helped Kabwe Warriors remain among the league’s strongest defensive teams throughout the season.
Young Talent and Fair Play Honoured
FC MUZA midfielder Given Kalusa was named Young Player of the Season following a breakthrough campaign that saw him emerge as one of the league’s brightest prospects.
Power Dynamos defender Frederick Mulambia won the Most Disciplined Player of the Season award after maintaining an impressive disciplinary record.
