Tenant Chilumba Takes Over as Mufulira Wanderers Head Coach
Mufulira Wanderers, one of Zambia’s most historic clubs, has appointed Tenant Chilumba as their new head coach. Chilumba signed a two-year and eight-month contract and is tasked with guiding the team to better performances after a difficult start to the MTN Super League season.
He will be supported by Joseph Musonda, a Zambian football legend and 2012 AFCON winner. The coaching team also includes Goalkeeper Coach Charles Kalumba Mpunga and Physical Trainer Joseph Sitali, both of whom will retain their positions.
Chilumba steps in following the dismissal of former coach Charles Kafula, who parted ways with the club after a string of poor results. Wanderers hope Chilumba’s vast experience in the Zambian league will bring stability and improve their fortunes in the coming months.
The club is known for its passionate fan base and rich footballing history, making Chilumba’s appointment crucial as the club looks to climb up the league table. Supporters will be eager to see whether the new coach can turn things around and bring back the club’s glory days.
