Stylish Roan’s Chakawa Stays Grounded Despite Perfect Start
Roan United head coach Satchmo Chakawa has called for improvement from his side, despite steering the Luanshya outfit to a flawless start in the 2025/26 FAZ National League.
The “Stylish” have taken the league by storm, collecting 15 points from five matches a run that sees them sitting four points clear at the top of the table.
Five Wins, Five Statements
Roan’s hot streak has seen them dispatch Ndola United, Kitwe United, Makeni All Stars, Atletico Lusaka, and most recently, Mpulungu Harbour. Their latest victory came at Kafubu Stadium, where they brushed aside Ndola United 2-0, further cementing their early dominance.
Chakawa: “We’re Still Learning” But coach Chakawa remains cautious, warning that his young side is still a work in progress. “We are a young team still developing. We still have a lot to learn. At the moment we are winning games but we are yet to blend. We are still knowing each other,” Chakawa told reporters.
Despite the strong start, the Roan boss insists survival remains the priority. “Our primary goal is to survive relegation and so our focus is the next game. We will see at the end of the season where these points will take us, but I’m happy with the start. Hopefully, we can continue with this form,” he added.
Next Fixture
According to Radio Icengelo Sports, Roan’s next assignment is a tricky away tie against Aguila Stars at the Reiz Arena (Woodlands Stadium) in Lusaka this Saturday.
