Konkola Blades Unveil Coach Mwansa as New Goalkeeper Coach
Konkola Blades Football Club (KBFC) has taken a strategic step in bolstering their coaching staff by signing Stephen Mwansa as their new Goalkeeper Coach on a two-year contract. Mwansa, who brings a wealth of experience from both domestic and international stints, is expected to play a pivotal role in the club’s pursuit of regaining their place in Zambia’s top-tier football.
Expressing his excitement about joining KBFC, Mwansa is eager to make a significant impact, praising the current technical team for their excellent preparation. He believes that his specialized strategies and techniques will further solidify the squad’s performance. Mwansa also gave credit to his predecessor for laying a strong foundation, which he plans to build upon.
The prospect of working again with Head Coach Beston Chambeshi, with whom he previously collaborated at the Under-20 National Team, is something Mwansa highly values. He is confident that their combined experience, along with the expertise of the assistant coaches, will bring substantial benefits to Konkola Blades.
Mwansa’s resume is extensive, with notable coaching roles at Nkana FC, Zanaco FC, Zesco United FC, and Lusaka Dynamos FC. He is also a certified CAF Instructor, having undergone comprehensive training in Scotland, South Africa, Namibia, and Cameroon.
Club Secretary Kebby Shampongo expressed strong confidence in Mwansa’s ability to address key areas of need within the squad, underscoring the club’s commitment to securing a top-flight position. The addition of Mwansa is part of a broader strategy by Konkola Blades to ensure that the team is well-prepared and equipped for success in the forthcoming season.
