Konkola Blades forward Idris Mbombo has scooped both the Player of the Week and Goal of the Week awards following his impressive performance in last week’s home victory over former club Nkana FC in the 2026 MTN Super League Transitional Season.
Mbombo was among the standout performers as Konkola Blades secured an important victory against Nkana, finding the back of the net with a brilliant finish to score the second goal of the match. His effort stood out as the Goal of the Week, while his overall contribution earned him the Player of the Week award.
The double recognition is a reward for Mbombo’s performance against his former employers, as he continues to contribute to Konkola Blades’ campaign.
The victory also had a positive impact on Konkola Blades’ position in the standings, lifting them to third place in their stream with nine points after four matches. FC MUZA remain the stream leaders, having collected 10 points from their opening four games.
With all teams having played four matches, the standings reflect the clubs’ performances over the same number of fixtures. Mbombo’s latest recognition adds another talking point to the ongoing transitional season, with the Konkola Blades forward earning two individual awards for his display against Nkana FC.
