Hard Rock Football Club has confirmed the signing of Zambian international striker Andrew Phiri from Tanzanian NBC Premier League side Singida FC, bolstering the club’s attacking options ahead of the 2026 PSL season.
Phiri joins the Golden Boys after a productive stint in Tanzania, where Singida FC have been steadily positioning themselves as a competitive force outside the traditional dominance of Young Africans (Yanga), Simba SC, and Azam FC. The move represents a significant statement of intent by Hard Rock FC as they continue to strengthen their squad with proven attacking talent.
A Proven Goalscorer
The 24-year-old striker built his reputation during his time at MUZA FC, where he emerged as one of the most lethal forwards in the MTN Super League. Phiri finished four consecutive seasons as MUZA’s top scorer, amassing an impressive 69 goals in all competitions. His consistency in front of goal earned him multiple individual accolades, including the Fans’ Player of the Season award for the 2023/24 campaign.
His goal-scoring exploits attracted interest from several top Zambian clubs, including ZESCO United and Power Dynamos, while he also underwent trials with Orlando Pirates of South Africa during the March 2025 international break.
International Experience and Career Highlights
Phiri has represented Zambia at various levels, including the U23 national team, the COSAFA Senior Championship, and was part of the Chipolopolo squad at the CHAN tournament, despite Zambia’s early exit. His international exposure, combined with his domestic pedigree, makes him a valuable addition to Hard Rock FC’s forward line.
At Singida FC, Phiri gained further continental experience and exposure to a different tactical environment, sharpening his movement, hold-up play, and finishing under pressure—qualities Hard Rock FC will be keen to capitalise on.
A Major Boost for the Golden Boys
Hard Rock FC believes Phiri’s arrival will add cutting edge, leadership, and experience to the squad as the club prepares for the demands of the upcoming in the Zimbabwean PSL campaign. With a natural instinct for goal and a proven scoring record, the Zambian striker is expected to play a central role in the club’s ambitions going forward.
Phiri now begins a new chapter with the Golden Boys, eager to translate his prolific form into success in his new colours.
