Kabwe Warriors Football Club has announced the appointment of George Chilufya as the new Head Coach on a two-year deal. The former Trident FC tactician takes the reins at a pivotal time, with the club aiming for a title push in the upcoming 2025/26 MTN Super League season.
Ambitions and Expectations
Speaking during the unveiling ceremony on Tuesday, June 17, Warriors Chairman Clyde Muleya made the club’s goals clear:
“We want to win the league this coming season. With Coach Chilufya’s vast experience and winning mentality, we believe he is the right man to lead us forward.”
The appointment marks a fresh chapter for the club after a transitional period that saw coaching changes earlier this year.
Chilufya Embraces the Challenge
Coach Chilufya, known for his tactical acumen and composed leadership style, expressed gratitude for the opportunity.
“This is a club with great history and I am very happy to be here to face the challenge ahead. Football justice is winning, and I’m here to win,” he declared.
He emphasized unity and collective effort — from technical staff to club sponsors — as key to achieving results.
A Proven Leader with a Vision
Chilufya joins the Magnificent People’s Team after guiding Trident FC in the MTN Super League and bringing structure and professionalism to their ranks. His appointment is seen as a strategic step in stabilizing Kabwe Warriors and pushing them into contention for top honors.
