Believe! Chipolopolo Ready for Morocco Clash
Zambia captain Kelvin Kampamba has urged his teammates to show belief and character as they prepare for a decisive CHAN 2024 Group A showdown against Morocco.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference held at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kampamba stressed that the Chipolopolo are far from out of the tournament despite their challenging start.
“Zambia has always reached the quarter-finals, yes, but it’s not over yet because we will have a good game against Morocco. We expect a tough game. They should not underrate us because we will give them a good run for their money,” Kampamba declared.
With Zambia still searching for their first points in the group, the skipper emphasized the importance of mental strength and resilience.
“We have to believe in ourselves as players. We are here to show our character and skills every time we enter the pitch. We do not decide to be beaten easily — sometimes it’s circumstances beyond our control,” he said. “We will go there and fight for maximum points.”
Zambia face Morocco at 16h00 CAT at the Nyayo National Stadium in a must-win match.
As it stands, Kenya top Group A with seven points from three games, followed by Angola with four. DR Congo and Morocco both sit on three points from two matches, while Zambia are yet to register a point.
The top two teams will advance to the quarterfinals of the TotalEnergies CHAN 2024, meaning victory over Morocco is essential if the Chipolopolo are to keep their hopes alive.
