Zambian Referees Appointed for São Tomé vs Equatorial Guinea World Cup Qualifier

Zambian Referees Appointed for São Tomé vs Equatorial Guinea World Cup Qualifier

Four Zambian match officials have been appointed by FIFA to officiate the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier between São Tomé e Príncipe and Equatorial Guinea, scheduled for next month in Morocco.

Leading the quartet is Hillary Hambaba, who will take charge of the Group H clash on 4 September 2025 at the Stade d’Honneur d’Oujda in Oujda.

Hambaba will be supported by assistant referees Meck Zulu and Trywell Nyirenda, with Chola Chansa named as the fourth official completing an all-Zambian officiating team on the pitch.
The match, which will kick off at 17:00 local time, is part of Match Day 7 in the African zone of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Preliminary Competition.

In addition to the Zambian contingent, Moses Ojwang Osano of Kenya has been appointed as the referee assessor, while Eugene Mari Diomandé from Côte d’Ivoire will serve as the match commissioner.

The match will be played at a neutral venue in Morocco, as São Tomé e Príncipe currently does not meet the stadium requirements to host competitive international fixtures.
