
MTN Super League runners-up Red Arrows FC officially wrapped up their 2025/26 campaign on Friday night with a colourful end-of-season awards ceremony celebrating the club’s achievements during the season.
The Airmen enjoyed another strong campaign that saw them finish second in the league standings before lifting the 2026 ABSA Cup title following a 2-0 victory over Power Dynamos in the final.
Several standout performers were recognised during the awards gala, with winger Ackim Mumba emerging as the club’s biggest winner on the night.
Ackim Mumba Named Player of the Year
Ackim Mumba was crowned Red Arrows’ Player of the Year after an outstanding campaign for the Airmen.
The exciting winger played a major role throughout the season and was rewarded with K15,000 for his impressive performances.
His creativity, consistency, and influence in attack made him one of the club’s most important players during the campaign.
Albert Kangwanda Rewarded for Goals
Forward Albert Kangwanda also enjoyed a memorable evening after collecting the Top Scorer Award.
The former Kafue Celtic striker finished the season with 17 goals in all competitions, including:
- 13 league goals
- 4 ABSA Cup goals
Kangwanda received K10,000 for his goalscoring exploits after another strong season in front of goal.
Charles Kalumba Wins Golden Glove
Goalkeeper Charles Kalumba was recognised for his performances between the posts after winning the Golden Glove Award.
The shot-stopper played an important role in Red Arrows’ defensive stability throughout the season and received K10,000 for the achievement.
Malian midfielder Alassane Diarra also walked away with K10,000 after receiving the Air Force Commander’s Special Recognition Award.
More Awards for Airmen Stars
Defender Michee Malonga won the Most Appearance Award after consistently featuring for the club throughout the campaign.
Godfrey Ngwenya was recognised as the Most Disciplined Player, while Brian Chilimina collected the Most Improved Player award.
Cedrick Onyumbe completed the list of major winners after being named the club’s Most Consistent Player.
Emotional Moment for “Agogo”
One of the most emotional moments of the evening came when long-time Red Arrows supporter Wainess Nyirenda, affectionately known as “Agogo,” received the Lifetime Loyalty Award.
The passionate supporter was honoured for her unwavering support of the club over the years and received K15,000 together with special recognition from the Airmen family.
The moment drew applause and admiration from players, officials, and guests during the ceremony.

In addition to cash prizes and trophies, all award recipients also received gift hampers sponsored by Zambia Industrial and Commercial Bank.
