Charles Kalumba Eyes COSAFA Glory as Zambia Gears Up for 2025 Tournament
Chipolopolo goalkeeper Charles Kalumba says he is aiming to lift another Cosafa trophy this year when the team heads to Bloemfontein for the regional championship.
In an interview, Kalumba said the lads were focused on etching their names in glory as they warm up for the 2025 edition which runs from June 4-15 in Mangaung | Bloemfontein.

“I have won this trophy before, and I would love to win this it again. I know how it feels, that is why I am pushing the guys to work very hard so that we can win again,” says the 2023 Cosafa Cup winner.
Kalumba says the competition in the squad was very high giving the technical bench a positive headache to pick the best.
“The competition is very high and I think the coach has a big headache of choosing the team, everyone is pushing with purpose, and no one is taking this lightly,” he said.
Kalumba weighed in on the group, “We can’t say those teams are pushovers, they are strong teams, we have to respect our opponents. Where we are going, we just have to work very hard.”
Seven-time champions Zambia are in Group D alongside Botswana and Comoros with their opening match on June 6.
