Nkana FC Set to Appoint Mwenya Chipepo as New Head Coach

Nkana Football Club has reportedly reached an agreement with Forest Rangers’ head coach, Mwenya Chipepo, to take over as their new boss. According to Zambian football transfer expert Wami Katanga, the former Power Dynamos coach is set to step in following the dismissal of Ian Bakala, who was placed on administrative leave just recently.

This swift move comes as Nkana struggles in the ongoing 2024/25 MTN Super League season, with the club languishing in the relegation zone after securing only six points from seven matches. Bakala’s exit followed Nkana’s disappointing performance, where they have managed just one win, three draws, and three losses.

Mwenya Chipepo, who has experience coaching in the Zambian top flight, is expected to bring a fresh perspective to Nkana’s campaign. His appointment will be pivotal as Nkana looks to escape the drop zone and get their season back on track.

Chipepo has previously guided Power Dynamos and Forest Rangers, making him well-versed in the demands of managing a top Zambian club. The Nkana faithful will hope his expertise can turn around the club’s fortunes in what has been a challenging season so far.
