Kabwe Warriors Stun Zesco to Take League Summit
Kabwe Warriors delivered a statement performance in Week 14 of the MTN Super League by defeating Zesco United 2-0 at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium. The win propelled the Warriors to the top of the league table with 28 points, showcasing their growing dominance under coach Mumamba Numba. Gabriel Banda opened the scoring in the sixth minute, and Francis Banda doubled the lead early in the second half, sealing an impressive victory against the Ndola giants.
This victory marked Kabwe Warriors’ eighth win of the season, displacing Zesco United from the summit of the standings. It was a bittersweet moment for coach Mumamba Numba, who masterminded the win against his former team.
