His success continued in China, where he played for Dalian Shide and Liaoning Hongyun over a 10-year stint that solidified his reputation as a formidable striker. He returned to Zambia in 2019 to join Red Arrows, and despite his age, he delivered consistently on the pitch—winning two MTN Super League titles, two Charity Shields, and the ABSA Cup.

A Golden Farewell

Chamanga defied expectations in the 2019/2020 season by winning the MTN Super League Golden Boot at age 40, scoring 16 goals. His leadership and professionalism became a cornerstone of Red Arrows’ recent successes. He also mentored several rising stars, including Ricky Banda, emphasizing his role not just as a player, but also as a guide for future talent.

On the international stage, Chamanga earned legendary status as part of Zambia’s 2012 AFCON-winning squad, scoring a crucial goal in the quarterfinals against Sudan with a trademark curler in the 86th minute to seal a 3-0 victory.

More Than a Player—A Symbol of Excellence

Off the field, Chamanga has been revered for his discipline, humility, and mentorship, characteristics that have endeared him to fans and peers alike. As he prepares for his testimonial match, he leaves behind a career defined not just by goals and silverware, but by resilience, leadership, and unmatched longevity.

As the curtain falls on this remarkable chapter, Zambian football celebrates not just a player—but a true icon. The farewell match is expected to draw supporters from across the country, all eager to give Chamanga the send-off he so richly deserves.
