George Lwandamina Joins Nchanga Rangers as Head Coach

Former Zesco United tactician George Lwandamina has been named the new head coach of Nchanga Rangers in the Zambian Super League. The club announced his appointment following the administrative leave given to former coach Robert Tembo and his technical bench after a poor start to the season. Lwandamina’s extensive experience, including managing the national team, is seen as vital to pulling the team out of the relegation zone.

Currently fourth from the bottom with just 10 points from 11 games, Nchanga Rangers have struggled to adjust to top-flight football. Tembo, who guided the team to promotion, saw his tenure marred by five losses, four draws, and only two wins. Lwandamina is tasked with reviving the team’s fortunes, supported by a newly structured technical bench featuring Boyd Mulwanda as first assistant coach and Israel Mwanza as the second assistant.

Club President Shapi Shachinda expressed confidence in Lwandamina, praising his track record and expertise. “We are confident he will guide the team to greater heights,” he said. Lwandamina’s return to club football marks a pivotal moment for Nchanga Rangers as they fight to retain their Super League status.
