From Tanzania to Zambia: Freddy Kouablan Joins Zesco United After Overseas Challenges
Zesco United has made a notable addition to their squad with the signing of Ivorian striker Freddy Michael Kouablan on a one-year contract. Kouablan returns to the Zambian Super League after a brief but challenging spell with USM Algiers in Algeria, following an initial stint with Simba SC in Tanzania. His last season in Zambia saw him top the 2023/24 MTN Super League scoring charts with an impressive 14 goals in 16 matches for Green Eagles, a performance that caught the attention of Simba.
However, his move to Tanzania didn’t yield the expected results, leading to his transfer to USM Algiers. Now back in Zambia, Kouablan has expressed determination to make a strong impact with Zesco United, emphasizing his commitment to set and achieve high targets for the season. “I have a lot of work to do, and I believe we’ll achieve great things this season,” Kouablan stated, showing confidence in his ability to perform.
His return raises anticipation among fans who remember his prolific scoring run in Zambia and look forward to seeing him reignite that form with Zesco United. The team hopes that Kouablan’s experience and goal-scoring ability will enhance their offensive strength and help them achieve their goals in the upcoming season.
