Football Association Of Malawi President elected into CAF executive committee

Walter Nyamilandu Manda the Football Association of Malawi’s President has been elected into the Confederation of African Football (CAF) executive committee(COSAFA zone) after amassing 35 of 50 votes in an election that was held in Ivory Coast.

Walter Nyamilamdu was competing against Mohamed Ally Samir Sobha from Mauritius who got 15 votes and Mokhosi Mohapi from Lesotho who got away with 3 votes while one vote was decraled null and void.

Congratulatory messages have already poured in from different stakeholders including the Football Association of Malawi and Malawi National football supporters.

Walter MacMillan Nyamilandu Manda who is remarkably in the centre of Malawi’s football administration has been serving as president of Football Association of Malawi for over a decade now.He is also the first Malawian in history and one of the few Africans to be elected into the prestigious governing body, FIFA as an Executive Council member.

Confederation of african football(CAF)is the governing body of African football and was founded in 1957.Currently it is chaired by Dr Patrice Motsepe from South Africa
