Phiri takes over from Lameck Banda, who has departed to join Mighty Mufulira Wanderers. An official announcement is expected soon.
Phiri’s Remarkable Record
Phiri’s return is significant for FC MUZA, as he was the architect behind their first qualification to the MTN Super League back in 2018. His record is impressive three successive top-flight promotions with three different clubs. In 2016, he led Real Nakonde FC to the Super League, followed by Kabwe Youth Soccer Academy in 2017, and then FC MUZA in 2018.
The Departure and Return
Although Phiri was placed on administrative leave in January 2019, with Dabwiso Nkoma taking over, the coach has remained highly regarded for his role in shaping the Mazabuka-based side. After a six-year hiatus, FC MUZA have opted to bring him back to continue the work he started and guide the team towards a successful future.
Conclusion
With his extensive experience and proven track record of success, Noel Phiri’s return is a statement of intent from FC MUZA. As he takes charge of the Elegant Dynamites, the club will be hoping he can recapture the magic that brought them to the top tier and cement their place as a competitive force in Zambian football.
