Enock Mwepu, former Zambia National team Captain and Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club player , has been discharged from the Lusaka Heart Hospital after receiving treatment for an illness. The Ministry of Health’s Permanent Secretary, Professor Lackson Kasonka, confirmed the news in a statement released earlier today.
Mwepu, who fell ill on Saturday, January 15th, 2023, had been receiving round-the-clock care at the Lusaka Heart Hospital. However, after making a steady recovery, doctors cleared him for discharge and he will now continue his recuperation from the comfort of his own home.
The news of Mwepu‘s illness and subsequent hospitalization had caused concern among members of the community, many of whom have expressed their relief at his recovery.
In his statement, Professor Kasonka also emphasized the importance of seeking medical attention at the first sign of illness. “Enock‘s case serves as a reminder of the importance of seeking medical help as soon as possible when feeling unwell,” he said. “Early detection and treatment can make all the difference in a person’s recovery.”
As Mwepu continues to recuperate at home, the community wishes him a speedy and full recovery.
