Eden University Women Super League – Week 3 Fixture Analysis
August 30th
YASA Queens (12th, 1 pt) vs Amazing Grace (10th, 2 pts) – OYDC, Lusaka – 12:00 hrs
YASA Queens have only kicked the ball once this season, and they already look allergic to scoring (0 GF). Meanwhile, Amazing Grace are living up to their name by gracefully drawing two games in a row – no wins, no losses, just… grace! This one could either be a snoozefest or a shocker, depending on who remembers where the goalposts are.

Nkwazi Queens (4th, 4 pts) vs Nchanga Rangers Queens (7th, 3 pts) – Edwin Imboela Stadium – 13:00 hrs
The Police (Nkwazi) will be looking to arrest Nchanga’s momentum. Nkwazi have been solid, unbeaten in two, while Nchanga Rangers’ defense leaks goals like a faulty tap (3 conceded). If Nchanga don’t tighten up at the back, Nkwazi might just throw them in “football jail.”

Red Arrows Women (2nd, 6 pts) vs Green Buffaloes Women (3rd, 4 pts) – Nkoloma Stadium – 15:00 hrs
The Game of the Week! Arrows have started like a jet fighter – two wins, no goals conceded. But the Buffaloes are charging right behind them, unbeaten and with firepower. This is basically Air Force vs Army, and Lusaka might just shake from the battle.
________________________________________
Kafinsa Blue Eagles Queens (5th, 3 pts) vs Luyando Foundation (10th, 3 pts) – Kafinsa Ground, Kitwe – 15:00 hrs
Blue Eagles scored 6 goals in 2 games but somehow still sit mid-table. It’s either feast or famine with them. Luyando, on the other hand, are the “low-budget survivors” – one goal scored, one conceded, three points. Expect goals, but don’t bet on who scores them. Could be a cricket score… or a 0-0.
________________________________________
Indeni Roses (8th, 3 pts) vs The Elite Ladies (15th, 0 pts) – Indeni Sports Complex, Ndola – 15:00 hrs
Roses are blossoming slowly but surely. The Elite Ladies? Well… they’re Elite only by name, not by points (still zero, sitting near the relegation “danger zone”). Unless they pull off a miracle, this looks like an afternoon bouquet for Indeni.
August 31st
Green Eagles Women (1st, 6 pts) vs Trident Queens (6th, 3 pts) – Bank of Zambia Stadium – 15:00 hrs
Top of the table Eagles have been flying high – unbeaten, no goals conceded, and ruthless efficiency. Trident, though, are no pushovers. They scored 3 goals in their only game so far. Think of this as arrows vs shields: Can Trident pierce the Eagles’ defense, or will they be shot down?
________________________________________
Chipata Girls (13th, 1 pt) vs Zanaco Ladies (9th, 3 pts) – David Kaunda, Chipata – 15:00 hrs
Chipata are leaking goals like a broken drum (4 conceded). Zanaco, meanwhile, have been quietly stacking points. With home advantage, Chipata might just dance “vimbuza” style on the pitch, but Zanaco look the more likely bankers of three points here.
________________________________________
ZISD FC (18th, 0 pts) vs Konkola Blades Queens (16th, 0 pts) – Independence Stadium, Lusaka – 15:00 hrs
The Basement Derby! Bottom vs bottom, no wins, no joy, and a combined 11 goals conceded in just 2 games. This one screams “someone has to win… right?” If this ends 0-0, both teams should be forced to replay it at Matero ground until a goal is scored.
________________________________________
Zesco Ndola Girls (14th, 0 pts) vs National Assembly (17th, 0 pts) – POSTPONED
Both teams must be relieved – instead of facing each other, they get a breather. Given they both sit in relegation waters, this postponement might just be a blessing in disguise.
