Brian Mwila Completes Move to Mufulira Wanderers

MTN Super League side Mufulira Wanderers have completed the signing of former Zambia international Brian Mwila, strengthening their attacking options ahead of the 2026 Transitional Super League season.

The experienced striker joins the Legendary Cup Fighters as a free agent following the end of his short spell with Kansanshi Dynamos.

Experienced Goalscorer Arrives at Shinde

Nicknamed “Zlatan”, Mwila brings a wealth of experience to Abena Milambo after an accomplished career spanning Zambia, Southern Africa and Europe.

The striker has previously featured for Lime Hotspurs, Platinum Stars in South Africa, SCR Altach in Austria and Sagrada Esperança in Angola, establishing himself as one of Zambia’s most travelled forwards.

His arrival is expected to provide leadership, experience and goals as Wanderers prepare for the new campaign.

Club Delighted to Secure His Signature

In announcing the signing, Mufulira Wanderers described Mwila as a player whose experience and winning mentality will strengthen the squad.

“A proven goalscorer for both club and country, Brian’s quality, leadership and winning mentality will be invaluable as we strengthen our squad ahead of the upcoming campaign beginning in September. His arrival underscores the club’s ambition to compete at the highest level and achieve success.”

The striker becomes one of Wanderers’ marquee additions during the current transfer window as the club continues rebuilding its squad.

Successful International Career

Mwila made his Chipolopolo debut in 2017 and quickly established himself as an important member of the national team.

He was part of the Zambia squad that finished runners-up at the 2017 COSAFA Cup and has scored 10 goals in 20 appearances for the senior national team.

His experience at international level is expected to be a valuable asset for Wanderers’ youthful squad.

Ready for a New Challenge

After spells in South Africa, Austria, Angola and Zambia, Mwila now returns to one of the country’s most historic clubs.

The 30-year-old will be aiming to rediscover his best form and help the nine-time league champions challenge for honours during the transitional season.

Conclusion

The signing of Brian Mwila is a major statement of intent from Mufulira Wanderers.

With his proven goalscoring pedigree, international experience and leadership qualities, the former Chipolopolo striker will be expected to play a key role as Abena Milambo look to re-establish themselves among the MTN Super League’s leading clubs.
