MWENYA CHIPEPO TAKES CHARGE AT ZESCO UNITED
ZESCO United Football Club has officially appointed Mwenya Chipepo as the club’s new head coach as the Ndola giants begin preparations for the upcoming season.
Chipepo will be supported by experienced coach Tenant Chembo, who returns to the club as First Assistant Coach.
The appointment brings together two coaches with extensive experience in Zambian football and continental competition.
CHIPEPO RETURNS TO THE SUPER LEAGUE SPOTLIGHT
Chipepo, who holds a CAF A Licence, has coached several top-flight clubs in Zambia, including Power Dynamos, Prison Leopards, Indeni, Forest Rangers and Nkana FC.
His biggest achievement came at Power Dynamos, where he guided the Kitwe giants to the Zambian Super League championship and gained valuable experience in the CAF Champions League.
His coaching career has also been characterised by taking teams through difficult periods and helping them improve their performances.
ZESCO United will now hope Chipepo can bring that experience to a club with significant domestic and continental ambitions.
TENANT CHEMBO RETURNS TO ZESCO UNITED
Chembo returns to familiar territory after previously serving in the ZESCO United technical setup.
The former player has developed an extensive coaching career, having worked with ZESCO United, Mufulira Wanderers, Lumwana Radiants, Forest Rangers, Indeni and Ndola United.
His previous spell at ZESCO United included involvement in the technical setup that won the 2016 Barclays Cup, now known as the ABSA Cup, as well as the 2017 FAZ Super League title.
He also gained CAF Champions League experience during his coaching career.
His knowledge of ZESCO United and the Zambian football landscape is expected to provide continuity and experience to Chipepo’s technical setup.

- Stephen Mbewe – Team Clinician

The appointments form part of ZESCO United’s preparations for the future as the club seeks to establish a strong, professional and competitive technical structure.
The immediate challenge for Chipepo and his technical team will be to translate their experience into results and build a squad capable of competing for major honours.
For Chipepo, the appointment represents another opportunity to demonstrate his credentials at one of Zambia’s established football institutions.
For ZESCO United, the decision signals a clear desire to combine Chipepo’s winning experience with Chembo’s familiarity with the club as the Ndola side begins a new chapter.
