Week 14 of the ZPL Women Super League produced excitement, quality goals, and major shifts across the standings. With six matches played, fans witnessed 19 goals, five decisive victories, and just one draw as teams continued to establish their identity heading into the second half of the season. The competition at both the top and bottom of the table intensified, with leaders holding firm and challengers staying within range.
It was a weekend that showcased the depth of the league, from title contenders reinforcing their dominance to mid-table teams fighting to climb the ladder. Every match carried weight, and the performances reflected a league full of ambition. As the log continues to take shape, Week 14 served as another important checkpoint in the long campaign.
Below is the full wrap of all six matches, including league positions and points as per the latest standings.
Green Buffaloes Extend Unbeaten Run (1st, 38 pts)
Nchanga Rangers Queens – 7th, 22 pts
League leaders Green Buffaloes Women continued their outstanding form, securing a 2–0 victory away to Nchanga Rangers Queens at Nchanga Stadium. Buffaloes, who sit comfortably at the top with 38 points, once again showed why they remain the strongest side in the division. Diana Banda delivered an exceptional performance, scoring both goals and driving her team to yet another win.
The match started with a high tempo, with Nchanga Rangers attempting to use home advantage to unsettle the log leaders. However, Buffaloes’ organisation and experience quickly brought the match under control. Banda’s opener settled early nerves, allowing Green Buffaloes to dictate possession and rhythm for large periods.
In the second half, Buffaloes continued to apply pressure and were rewarded when Banda struck again to seal the game. Nchanga Rangers showed effort throughout but struggled to create clear openings against a well-structured Buffaloes defence. With the win, Green Buffaloes remain the only unbeaten team and maintain a strong title charge.
Red Arrows Women Hit Six in Ruthless Display (5th, 30 pts)
ZISD FC – 18th, 4 pts
At Nkoloma Stadium, Red Arrows Women delivered the most dominant display of the weekend, thrashing bottom-placed ZISD FC 6–1. The victory lifts Arrows to 30 points, keeping them firmly in the top five and within touching distance of the top four. Faith Tembo stole the show with a sensational hat-trick, confidently leading the attack.
The hosts controlled the match from the opening whistle, applying constant pressure on the ZISD backline. Mary Mambwe, Mary Mukupa, and Bupe Banda also added their names to the scoresheet, showcasing Arrows’ depth in attack. Their relentless energy overwhelmed the struggling visitors, who remain stuck at the bottom with just four points.
ZISD FC managed to get on the scoresheet through Peggy Phiri, who scored a well-taken consolation goal. However, it wasn’t enough to prevent another difficult afternoon for the side. Red Arrows’ win sends a clear message to the league they remain a dangerous contender capable of producing explosive scorelines.
Zanaco Ladies Extend Strong Form (4th, 30 pts)
National Assembly Women – 15th, 8 pts
Zanaco Ladies continued their impressive run by securing a commanding 3–0 win over National Assembly Women at Sunset Stadium. The victory keeps them in 4th place with 30 points, positioning them strongly in the race for the top three. Goals from Tisilile Lungu, Zangose Zulu, and Regina Chanda ensured a comfortable evening for the hosts.
Zanaco started on the front foot, controlling possession and creating early opportunities. Lungu’s opener was well deserved, setting the tone for a dominant performance. National Assembly struggled to keep pace with Zanaco’s tempo and were frequently pushed back into their defensive third.
In the second half, Zanaco continued to dictate play. Zulu and Chanda added the second and third goals, killing off any hope of a comeback. National Assembly, who remain in 15th place with eight points, showed resilience but lacked the attacking threat to trouble the hosts. Zanaco’s momentum continues to grow as they push for a top-three finish.
Green Eagles Edge Indeni Roses (3rd, 31 pts)
Indeni Roses – 6th, 28 pts
Green Eagles Women, sitting 3rd with 31 points, earned a crucial 2–1 victory over 6th-placed Indeni Roses at Indeni Sports Complex. The match was closely contested, filled with tactical battles and moments of brilliance. Natasha Nkaka and Esther Mumba scored for Eagles, while Ngosa Chabwe grabbed one back for the hosts.
Green Eagles started brightly, using their pace and wide play to stretch Indeni early on. Nkaka’s opener rewarded their attacking intent, giving them a platform to control the match. Indeni Roses responded well, building attacks through midfield and creating dangerous counterattacks.
Mumba extended Eagles’ lead in the second half with a decisive finish. Despite being two goals down, Indeni refused to back down and pulled one back through Chabwe. They pushed for an equaliser in the final stages but were unable to find a breakthrough. The win keeps Green Eagles firmly in the top three, while Indeni remain competitive in 6th with 28 points.
Zesco Ndola Girls Back to Winning Ways (2nd, 31 pts)
Luyando Foundation Girls – 13th, 11 pts
Zesco Ndola Girls bounced back strongly, beating Luyando Foundation Girls 2–0 at Independence Stadium. Sitting 2nd with 31 points, Zesco remain in close pursuit of league leaders Green Buffaloes. Captain Avell Chitundu was exceptional, scoring both goals and leading by example.
The match began with Zesco in full control, dictating tempo and moving the ball with confidence. Chitundu opened the scoring with a calm finish, rewarding her side’s aggressive start. Luyando Foundation struggled to gain control, often pinned back by Zesco’s high press.
In the second half, Chitundu struck again to seal the victory. Luyando Foundation improved slightly, creating a few half-chances, but Zesco’s defensive structure held firm. The win keeps Zesco level on points with Green Eagles and firmly in the title hunt.
YASA Queens and Kamfinsa Share Points in the Only Draw (12th, 12 pts & 11th, 15 pts)
YASA Queens and Kamfinsa Blue Eagles Queens battled to a 1–1 draw at Independence Stadium in the only stalemate of the weekend. YASA sit 12th with 12 points, while Kamfinsa remain in 11th place on 15 points. Both teams showcased determination and competitive spirit from start to finish.
Veronica Phiri opened the scoring for YASA Queens, finishing off a flowing move that caught the Kamfinsa defence off guard. The early goal provided momentum for the home team, who pushed forward with confidence. However, Kamfinsa quickly reorganised and began to match YASA in midfield battles.
Namakau Mwangala equalised for Kamfinsa with a composed finish, ensuring both sides had something to show for their efforts. The second half saw chances for both teams, but neither could find a winner. The draw leaves both sides in a similar mid-table position heading into the next round.
Week 14 of the ZPL Women Super League showcased quality goals, dominant performances, and tightly contested matches. Green Buffaloes continue to lead the pack, while Zesco Ndola Girls and Green Eagles remain close challengers. Red Arrows and Zanaco maintained pressure on the top three, while the lower-end teams continue to fight for survival. As the league continues to gather momentum, the championship race looks more exciting than ever.
