The 2025/26 Eden University Women Super League delivered yet another thrilling weekend, with 20 goals scored across nine fiercely contested fixtures. From late winners to relegation shake-ups, Matchweek 8 proved decisive as both the title race and bottom battle intensified.
Zesco Ndola Girls Maintain Winning Streak, Sit 3rd
Defending champions Zesco Ndola Girls clinched a dramatic 1-0 victory over 7th-placed Zanaco Ladies courtesy of an 88th-minute strike from red-hot forward Avell Chitundu. The goal extended both Zesco’s six-match winning streak and Chitundu’s four-game scoring run, keeping the Ndola outfit firmly in 3rd place.
Green Eagles Fight Back to Go Second
Green Eagles Women edged Amazing Grace FC 2-1 in a penalty-filled thriller, with veteran striker Rachael Moono scoring twice, including a last-minute winner. With the result, Green Eagles climb to 2nd, while Amazing Grace drop to 15th and remain locked in relegation trouble.
Nchanga Rangers Hit Bottom-Placed ZISD for Five
In one of their most dominant performances this season, 16th-placed Nchanga Rangers Queens demolished bottom side ZISD Women (18th) with a 5-0 rout, featuring five different goal scorers — a rare show of attacking depth.
Indeni Roses Up to 5th as Nkwazi Slip to 11th
Indeni Roses continued their impressive form with a 3-1 away victory over Nkwazi Queens. Goals from Rhoda Chileshe, Noria Sosala, and Grace Kamanga secured their fifth win, while Nkwazi registered back-to-back losses, sliding to 11th.
“What has pleased me is the ability to score goals and take chances — something we lacked earlier,” said Head Coach Rex Chanda.
Konkola Blades Back in Form, Move to 6th
After midweek disappointment, Konkola Blades Queens bounced back with a 2-0 win over National Assembly Women, who remain 16th in the drop zone. The three points push Blades into 6th position, consolidating their mid-table push.
Red Arrows Climb to 4th, Chipata Still Searching
Red Arrows Women defeated 17th-placed Chipata Girls 2-0, thanks to early goals from Mwaka Mupeta and Bertha Kashinga. The Airwomen now sit 4th, firmly in top-four contention.
Elite Ladies Rise to 10th After Narrow Kamfinsa Victory
The Elite Ladies edged 12th-placed Kamfinsa Blue Eagles 1-0 at Sunset Stadium, with Saliya Mwanza netting the decider in the 77th minute.
League Leaders Green Buffaloes Held by 13th-placed Trident
Table-topping Green Buffaloes Women were forced to share points in a 1-1 draw with Trident Queens. Despite Natasha Nanyangwe’s early opener, Trident fought back through Ruth Chinyama, securing an important result in their survival bid.
“We came here for either a win or a point — and we got it,” said Trident Head Coach Nicholas Zulu.
Sisters Derby Ends Level – Luyando (9th) vs Yasa (8th)
The much-hyped Sisters Derby between Luyando Foundation Girls (9th) and Yasa Queens (8th) ended 1-1, with Precious Malama and Margret Chisenga scoring in either half.
🔚 Conclusion
Matchweek 8 proved just how unpredictable and competitive the Eden University Women Super League has become. Zesco and Green Eagles are pushing leaders Green Buffaloes, while Amazing Grace, National Assembly, Chipata and ZISD fight to survive. With momentum shifting weekly, Matchweek 9 promises even more fireworks.
