ZESCO United Part Ways with Lwandamina
Ndola, 29th August, 2024 – ZESCO United Football Club has officially announced the departure of Head Coach George Lwandamina and Assistant Coach Tenant Chilumba, effective immediately. The decision marks the end of Lwandamina’s second stint with the club, during which he was expected to drive ZESCO United back to the top of the Zambian Super League.
In a statement, the club expressed gratitude to Lwandamina and Chilumba for their efforts and contributions during their tenure, wishing them success in their future endeavors. The sudden departure comes at a time when ZESCO United has been striving to regain its form and climb up the league standings.
To ensure continuity, ZESCO United has appointed Second Assistant Coach Emmanuel Siwale as the interim Head Coach. Siwale will lead the team as the club embarks on a comprehensive search for a new full-time Head Coach to steer the team forward.
The club is expected to conduct a thorough recruitment process to identify the right candidate who will align with the team’s ambitions and long-term goals. ZESCO United fans and stakeholders will be keenly watching the developments as the club aims to stabilize and make a strong comeback in the ongoing season.
This change in leadership could potentially herald a new era for ZESCO United, as they look to rediscover their dominance in Zambian football and make a significant impact both domestically and on the continental stage.
