Zanaco Ladies have completed the signing of Democratic Republic of Congo duo Brigitte Ngamita Zita and Rebecca Kianga Mulanga, strengthening their squad with international experience and proven goalscoring ability ahead of the transition season.
Goalkeeper Ngamita has joined the Lusaka-based club on a two-year loan from Ituri FC, while forward Kianga has signed a two-year permanent contract from Les Aigles du Congo. Both players have now joined Zanaco for the transition season and could be available for Saturday’s fixture against Red Arrows.
Ngamita arrives with considerable experience at both club and international level. The goalkeeper previously featured for TP Mazembe, where she was part of the side that won the CAF Women’s Champions League in 2023. Her continental experience adds an important dimension to Zanaco’s goalkeeping department as the club looks to build a competitive squad for the new campaign.
The Congolese shot-stopper has also enjoyed success at regional level, winning the UNIFAC Cup in 2022 and 2024. Her international experience extends to both youth and senior football, having represented the Democratic Republic of Congo at national-team level.
Ngamita captained the DR Congo U20 side in 2023 and was also part of the senior national team that secured qualification for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. Her background gives Zanaco a goalkeeper with experience of high-level competition and international football.
The 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League winner expressed her excitement at joining Zanaco and highlighted the club’s history on the African stage.
“Zanaco Football Club has a rich history on the African stage and it’s an honour to join the club,” Ngamita said.
While Ngamita will provide additional strength between the posts, Kianga arrives with a strong goalscoring record that could add another attacking dimension to Zanaco Ladies.
The forward joins from Les Aigles du Congo after finishing as the Congolese Super League’s leading scorer last season. Kianga scored 18 goals during the campaign, underlining her ability to consistently find the back of the net.
Her two-year permanent contract means Zanaco have secured the services of a forward who enters the club following an impressive domestic campaign in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Kianga also brings international experience to the squad. She has represented DR Congo at U17 and U20 level and is currently part of the country’s senior national-team set-up.
The forward said she is looking forward to contributing to Zanaco’s ambitions after completing her move to the club.

The arrival of the two Congolese players gives Zanaco additional quality in two key areas of the pitch. Ngamita strengthens the goalkeeping department with her experience of continental and international football, while Kianga provides an attacking option with a proven record in front of goal.
Their contrasting profiles could make them important additions to the Zanaco squad during the transition season. Ngamita brings experience from one of Africa’s biggest women’s club competitions, while Kianga arrives with the confidence of having finished as the leading scorer in her domestic league.
The club will now hope the new additions can quickly settle into the squad and adapt to the demands of Zambian women’s football. With the pair already in camp, there is also the possibility of seeing them make their first appearance for Zanaco as early as Saturday against Red Arrows.
For Zanaco, the signings represent a clear effort to strengthen the squad as the club prepares for the transition season. Bringing in players with international backgrounds also provides additional competition within the team while giving the technical bench more options across different areas of the pitch.
Ngamita’s previous success at the CAF Women’s Champions League, combined with Kianga’s 18-goal campaign in the Congolese Super League, means Zanaco have added two players arriving with significant competitive experience.
The club will now look to integrate the duo into the squad as they target a strong campaign, with the new arrivals expected to play a role in Zanaco Ladies’ efforts during the transition season.
