Zambian Goalkeeper Agnes Banda Leaves TP Mazembe
Zambian goalkeeper Agnes Fabiola Banda has officially bid farewell to TP Mazembe, concluding a remarkable 18-month journey filled with accolades and personal achievements. Banda, who joined Mazembe in March 2023 from National Assembly, quickly established herself as a key player, helping the team secure seven trophies during her time at the Lubumbashi-based club.
In an emotional farewell message shared on social media, Banda thanked the club and its supporters, expressing her gratitude for the opportunity. Her tenure saw her play 24 matches, an impressive run that included 22 clean sheets and just three goals conceded, cementing her reputation as a top-tier goalkeeper. Her consistency and commanding presence between the posts made her a fan favorite at Mazembe.
Despite her club success, Banda has yet to make her senior debut for the Zambian national team, although she was a member of the squad that won the COSAFA Women’s Championship in 2022. Her contributions to the squad, coupled with her excellent club record, make her a player to watch in the future.
