ZAMBIA WINS OVER 100 GOLD MEDALS
Zambia has for the first time won over 100 gold medals in a year from various sports disciplines.
Sports Minister Hon ELVIS NKANDU says the country has scooped 105 gold, 61 silver and 76 bronze medals making a total of 242 medals in 2022.
NKANDU says the country would like to win more medals and trophies from the athletes currently engaged in the region 5 games in Malawi.
Speaking when he received medals from the Strongman and Handball teams, the Minister said Government is motivated to continue sponsoring whenever teams return with medals and trophies.
Meanwhile, Zambia Strongman Association President PATTERSON MUZONDIWA said it would not be possible to send many athletes without support from the ministry, adding that the team will continue to train hard to conquer the biggest stage.
And Handball Association of Zambia President BWALYA BANDA said Zambia will be representing the continent at the International Handball Federation tournament in Congo Brazzaville starting December 12.
