Zambia U17 WNT Aiming for Strong Finish Against Japan
Zambia U17 Women’s National Team (WNT) coach Carol Kanyemba is hopeful as her team prepares for their last group match against Japan at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic. The Copper Princesses will play on 23rd October at 22h00 CAT at the Felix Sanchez Stadium.
After two tough outings, Zambia is determined to finish strong. They lost their opening match against Brazil 1-0 and followed up with a 2-0 defeat to Poland, placing extra significance on their final game. Despite these setbacks, Kanyemba is confident her side has learned valuable lessons and aims for a positive result against Japan.

The young Zambian squad will be looking to test Japan’s defense with their attacking skills. A victory would not only be a morale boost but also a proud conclusion to their World Cup campaign. Kanyemba noted that the team has grown from the experience, which will be key for future competitions.
This fixture marks the last opportunity for Zambia to make an impression on the global stage, and they are ready to give their all against a technically strong Japanese team.
