Trident Football Club have officially announced the appointment of Kebby Hachipuka as the club’s new Head Coach, as the Kalumbila-based side intensify efforts to return to the MTN Super League at the end of the season.
The announcement was made on 6 January 2026, with the club confirming a reshaped technical bench aimed at strengthening performance during the second half of the campaign.
New Technical Bench Confirmed
Hachipuka will be assisted by Jonas Sakuwaha, who joins the club as Assistant Coach. Trident have also confirmed the return of Graven Chitalu and Isaac Shimoko to the technical bench, where they will continue as Physical Trainer and Goalkeeper Trainer, respectively, until the end of the season.
The club believes the blend of experience and continuity will provide stability as Trident push for promotion.
Hachipuka’s Coaching Background
Coach Kebby Hachipuka brings considerable experience to Trident, having previously served as Head Coach of Green Eagles in the MTN Super League. Before that, he handled Mpulungu Harbour and ZNS Lwamfumu in the National League, gaining valuable exposure at both elite and second-tier levels of Zambian football.
His appointment signals Trident’s intent to rely on proven domestic expertise as they target a strong league finish.
Sakuwaha Adds Youth Development Expertise
Assistant Coach Jonas Sakuwaha arrives from Zesco United, where he worked as a Youth Coach, playing a role in player development at one of Zambia’s most successful clubs. He has also previously served as Head Coach of Gomes FC in the National League, giving him hands-on experience in competitive league football.
Club’s Promotion Ambition
Speaking on the appointment, Chief Executive Officer Mvula Mangulenje said the decision was made with the club’s long-term objectives in mind.
“The Executive Committee made the decision to appoint Hachipuka in the best interest of the club, with the aim of guiding the team forward and achieving a stronger finish to the season,” Mangulenje said.
The newly constituted technical bench has been tasked with leading Trident back to the MTN Super League, a key objective for the club this season.
Next Assignment
Hachipuka and his coaching staff will take charge for the first time when Trident face Indeni Football Club away from home on Saturday, marking the beginning of a crucial phase in the club’s campaign.
Conclusion
With a refreshed technical bench and a clear promotion mandate, Trident Football Club will be hoping the appointment of Kebby Hachipuka provides the tactical direction and momentum needed to secure a return to top-flight football.
