Forest Rangers Football Club have appointed Ronald Mukosha as their new head coach on a two-year contract as the club steps up preparations for the 2026/27 National League season.
The former Mutondo Stars boss takes over at Dola Hill with immediate effect and has been tasked with leading the Ndola-based side back to the MTN Super League following their relegation.
Mukosha replaces Boyd Mulwanda, whose contract expired at the end of last season.
Forest Rangers Back Mukosha
In a statement announcing the appointment, Forest Rangers expressed confidence that Mukosha possesses the experience and leadership needed to spearhead the club’s promotion ambitions.
“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Ronald Mukosha as Head Coach of Forest Rangers Football Club, on a two-year contract effective immediately, as we intensify our push for promotion to the Premier League.”
The club believes Mukosha’s successful spell with Mutondo Stars makes him the ideal candidate to lead the next phase of the team’s rebuilding process.
“Coach Mukosha joins us from Mutondo Stars, where he served as Head Coach. He brings a wealth of technical expertise and proven leadership that we believe will strengthen our ambitions at Dola Hill.”
Promotion the Primary Objective
Mukosha arrives with a reputation for developing competitive teams and is expected to play a central role in Forest Rangers’ quest for an immediate return to Zambia’s top flight.
The former Super League side will be among the favourites for promotion when the National League campaign gets underway, with the new coach expected to oversee player recruitment and pre-season preparations.
Forest Rangers remain confident that his leadership can help restore the club’s place among Zambia’s elite.
“We are confident his experience and leadership will help shape this next chapter for Forest Rangers Football Club.”
Boyd Mulwanda Departs
Alongside Mukosha’s appointment, Forest Rangers confirmed the departure of outgoing head coach Boyd Mulwanda following the expiry of his contract.
The club thanked Mulwanda for his service and professionalism during his time at Dola Hill.
“We also confirm the departure of Coach Boyd Mulwanda, whose contract has concluded. We thank him for his dedication, professionalism, and service during his tenure, and wish him every success in his future endeavours.”
Conclusion
The appointment of Ronald Mukosha signals Forest Rangers’ intent to mount a serious challenge for promotion back to the MTN Super League.
With a proven coach now at the helm, the Ndola outfit will be hoping to begin a new era and quickly return to Zambia’s top-flight football.
