Red Arrows Draw Madagascar's Rouge FC in CAF Confederation Cup

ABSA Cup champions Red Arrows have been drawn against Rouge FC of Madagascar in the first preliminary round of the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup.

The draw, conducted on Wednesday, handed the Airmen a two-legged tie against the Malagasy outfit as they begin their quest for a place in the competition’s group stage.

Home First for the Airmen

Red Arrows will host Rouge FC in the first leg during the 4-6 September window before travelling to Madagascar for the return leg scheduled between 11 and 13 September.

The Airmen will be aiming to take a positive result into the away fixture as they look to progress to the next stage of the competition.

Kaizer Chiefs Await Potential Winners

Should Red Arrows overcome Rouge FC over two legs, they will face South African giants Kaizer Chiefs in the second preliminary round.

The first leg of that tie is scheduled for 16-18 October, with the return leg to be played between 23 and 25 October.

The Kitwe giants will be hoping for a favourable draw as they prepare to represent Zambia in Africa’s premier club competition.

Red Arrows have been handed a challenging but manageable opening assignment against Rouge FC as they begin their CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

Victory over the Malagasy side would set up a blockbuster showdown against Kaizer Chiefs, with a place in the final qualifying round at stake.
