Power Dynamos Crowned 2024/25 MTN Super League Champions

Power Dynamos have been officially crowned 2024/25 MTN Super League champions after a tense 1-0 victory over Green Eagles at the Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe on Saturday.

Brian Masanyinga emerged as the hero, converting a stoppage-time penalty to seal Abayellow’s eighth league title and second in three seasons.

The result gives Power an unassailable seven-point lead over second-placed ZESCO United, who can no longer catch up even with two games remaining.

It was a nervy and hard-fought encounter, with both sides struggling to break the deadlock in regulation time. But when Power were awarded a penalty deep into added time, Masanyinga stepped up with composure to send the home fans into wild celebrations.

MTN Super League Title Race Settled

With the win, Oswald Mutapa’s side wraps up a consistent and resilient campaign, marked by crucial victories and defensive solidity. After missing out in the ABSA Cup, Power Dynamos have delivered when it matters most.

ZESCO United, now seven points behind, will have to settle for second place regardless of their remaining fixtures.
