FOLLOWING the conclusion of a transfer deal for striker Alex Ng’onga on a permanent arrangement to Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)’s giants TP Mazembe, Nkana Football Club has observed a trend by some unscrupulous individuals purporting to be agents where they are targeting Nkana players with the view of alluring them into the DRC League.
Therefore, the Club would like to send a stern warning to both the unscrupulous agents and unsuspecting players that it will not hesitate to take appropriate actions against such individuals.
Club Chief Executive Officer, Kelvin Mutafu stated that: “We wish to state that all our current players have running contracts which in some cases run up to the end of the season, while others go beyond.
Therefore, our players are not available for sale, and we wish to advice agents to stay away.”
Mutafu reiterated that management will not entertain any engagement to release any player as no contracted Nkana player is for sale at the moment.
And Nkana Football Club has wished Ng’onga and former defender Gilroy Chimwemwe all the best in their new chapters at TP Mazembe.
“On behalf of the Club President Mr. Chikusi Banda, the entire Nkana Football Club and on my own behalf, we would like to wish our boys Alex Ng’onga and Gilroy Chimwemwe all the best with their new club. As a Club, we believe that even at their new club they will excel,” Mutafu said.
The Nkana CEO also revealed that the Club was currently and urgently working on beefing up the team in areas where the team is lacking and that the new signings will be unveiled soon.
