Nkana Football Club have continued their preparations for the 2026/27 season by completing the permanent signing of midfielder Francis Bubu Mutalange from Atletico Lusaka Football Club.
The 22-year-old joins the Kitwe giants on a two-and-a-half-year contract, with the club holding an option to extend the deal by a further year.
Mutalange becomes one of the latest additions to Elijah Tana‘s squad as Kalampa look to strengthen ahead of the new campaign following the lifting of their FIFA transfer ban.
Exciting Young Talent
Nkana Chief Executive Officer Mwansa Kapyanga expressed his delight after securing the services of the promising midfielder.
Kapyanga described Mutalange as a player with significant potential and believes the club can help him develop into an even better footballer.
“Francis is a talented young midfielder with tremendous potential and a strong desire to continue developing his game.”
“We believe Nkana Football Club provides the right environment for him to take the next step in his career.”
Important Addition for Kalampa
The Nkana CEO also highlighted the qualities that attracted the club to the midfielder.
“His energy, technical ability and hunger to improve make him an important addition to our squad.”
“We are excited to have him join the Club and look forward to watching him grow in the Nkana colours.”
The move underlines Nkana’s intention to invest in young talent as they rebuild for the future.
New Chapter Begins
For Mutalange, the transfer represents a major step in his career.
The midfielder now joins one of Zambia’s most successful clubs and will have the opportunity to showcase his abilities on a bigger stage.
With competition for places expected to be fierce, he will be eager to impress the technical bench and establish himself as a regular starter.
Conclusion
Following the removal of their FIFA transfer ban, Nkana are wasting little time strengthening their squad.
The arrival of Francis Bubu Mutalange adds youth, energy and potential to the Kalampa midfield as the club looks to improve on last season’s campaign and return to competing at the highest level.
