Green Buffaloes Sign U20 Defender Margret Gondwe
Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club has bolstered their squad with the signing of U20 national team defender Margret Gondwe from Luyando Foundation Football Club.
Margret Gondwe, widely regarded as one of Zambia’s brightest young talents, joins Green Buffaloes on a permanent transfer. Her addition is set to enhance the team’s defensive strength and overall performance as they aim to maintain their position as one of the top teams in Zambian women’s football.
The 19-year-old brings a wealth of experience despite her young age. She was a key part of the Zambia U17 squad that traveled to the Dominican Republic for the FIFA U17 World Cup. More recently, Gondwe played a vital role in the COSAFA U20 Women’s Championship-winning squad last year.
Club Statement
Having developed her skills at Luyando Foundation Football Club, Gondwe has consistently impressed with her defensive prowess, leadership, and composure under pressure. Her transfer to Green Buffaloes marks the next step in her promising career and presents her with an opportunity to compete at a higher level in the FAZ Women’s Super Division.
Fans and analysts alike are eager to see Gondwe don the Green Buffaloes jersey and contribute to the team’s success in the upcoming season. Her presence is expected to inspire younger players and strengthen the club’s pursuit of both domestic and regional honors.
