Zambian Copper Queens midfielder Susan Katongo has been on the centre of attention between her and her club ZISD , since last year’s the lassie has not featured in a competitive league .
The former Under-20 national team captain seems to have resolved the issues now and she has returned to the pitch in which made her first appearance for the club in over four months. Katongo played for ZISD in their week 19 league fixture, where they were defeated 6-0 by Red Arrows yesterday at the Independence Stadium in Lusaka.
ZISD agreed to get Katongo to South Africa a few weeks ago to try out for mamelodi sundowns ladies after being invited , everything was paid but the player refused to travel for trails .
After some weeks of being silent, Katongo finally speaks up about her career goals moving forward;
“I believe when I go to the World Cup there are some bigger clubs who would like to get me to their club. My ambition is to play for a better club not in Africa but to play for a club outside Africa. To all my fans, thank you for supporting me.”
Says Katongo in a FAZ interview about preparations for the World Cup.
