Week 7 of the Eden University Women Super League delivered one of the most thrilling rounds of the season — 28 goals scored, eight teams collecting maximum points, and only one draw recorded. From Zesco Ndola Girls’ ruthless dominance to Amazing Grace FC’s first-ever top-flight victory, this weekend had everything — heartbreak, history, and heroics.
Green Buffaloes Women Stay Unbeaten and Firm on Top
Green Buffaloes Women continued their excellent form, remaining the only unbeaten side in the league following a narrow 1–0 victory over Kamfinsa Blue Eagles Queens. Agness Phiri’s composed penalty in the 33rd minute proved decisive, sealing their sixth win of the campaign and reaffirming their place at the summit of the table.
For Kamfinsa Blue Eagles, the defeat means they drop to 11th on the table and continue to struggle for consistency. Despite showing resilience, they were unable to break down Buffaloes’ organized defense, led by captain Margaret Belemu. The champions, meanwhile, remain the benchmark of stability and control in the league.
Red Arrows and Zanaco Ladies Share the Spoils in Lusaka Derby
The only draw of the weekend came in a pulsating 1–1 affair between Red Arrows Women and Zanaco Ladies at Nkoloma Stadium. Mary Mukupa put Arrows ahead in the 26th minute before Regina Chanda equalized in the 41st, scoring in back-to-back matches for Zanaco.
The draw saw Red Arrows slip to 3rd place, while Zanaco stayed 4th. Both teams played with intensity, but neither could find a breakthrough in the second half despite numerous chances. The Lusaka derby once again lived up to expectations — physical, tactical, and fiercely contested.
YASA Queens End Nkwazi Queens’ Unbeaten Run
YASA Queens shocked Nkwazi Queens with a 2–1 comeback win that ended Nkwazi’s unbeaten run. Harriet Matipa (70′) and Margaret Chisenga (76′ pen) struck in quick succession to overturn the deficit after Anita Nankamba had put Nkwazi ahead earlier.
The result lifted YASA Queens to 7th position, signaling a strong turnaround after a slow start. For Nkwazi, now 9th, the defeat was a wake-up call in their pursuit of consistency. Both sides showed attacking intent, but YASA’s resilience and clinical finishing made the difference.
Konkola Blades Queens Secure Third Straight Win
At Konkola Stadium, Konkola Blades Queens continued their impressive run with a 2–1 victory over Luyando Foundation Girls. After Precious Malama gave Luyando the lead in the 43rd minute, Chisola Ng’andu leveled just after the restart before Nowela Mwanza scored the winner in the 65th minute.
The win marked Konkola’s third consecutive triumph, moving them to 7th on the table. Luyando, on the other hand, slipped to 10th. Coach Lucy Mwape’s tactical discipline and the team’s fighting spirit have made Blades one of the most improved sides in recent weeks.
Zesco Ndola Girls and Indeni Roses Record Big Wins
Zesco Ndola Girls reminded everyone why they are title contenders with a commanding 6–0 demolition of Nchanga Rangers Queens. Goals from Thandiwe Ndhlovu, Avell Chitundu, Eneless Phiri, and substitutes Charity Mubanga and Fridah Kabwe (brace) highlighted their attacking prowess. Zesco climbed to 5th, with two games in hand, while Nchanga dropped to 16th in the relegation zone.
Meanwhile, Indeni Roses were equally ruthless, thrashing Chipata Girls 6–1. Veteran Noria Sosala netted a brace, while Edith Phiri, Grace Kamanga, Grace Mulaisho, and Ngosa Chabwe completed the rout. Memory Zulu scored Chipata’s consolation. The win lifted Indeni to 4th, while Chipata remained winless in 15th place.
Green Eagles Queens and Trident Queens Bounce Back Strongly
After a tough few weeks, Green Eagles Queens returned to winning ways with a solid 3–0 victory over Elite Ladies. Theresa Chewe’s strike, an own goal from Idah Lungu, and another clean sheet for goalkeeper Loveness Tonge sealed the win. Eagles climbed to 2nd with 15 points, while Elite Ladies fell to 12th.
Elsewhere, Trident Queens edged National Assembly Women 1–0 thanks to Florence Kasonde’s first-half strike. The narrow win moved Trident up to 13th, while National Assembly stayed 15th and deep in relegation trouble.
Amazing Grace Make History with First-Ever Super League Win
In the biggest fairytale of the weekend, Amazing Grace FC secured their first-ever Super League victory with a 2–1 away win over ZISD Women. Astrida Sikaala’s quickfire brace in the 32nd and 35th minutes inspired the triumph, while Tendai Sani pulled one back for ZISD before halftime.
The result lifted Amazing Grace to 14th, climbing out of the relegation zone for the first time this season. ZISD, meanwhile, remained bottom with just one point from seven matches. The historic win symbolizes hope and belief for the newly promoted side.
Conclusion
Week 7 of the Eden University Women Super League produced everything fans love — goals, drama, and history. With Green Buffaloes Women still unbeaten, Zesco Ndola Girls and Indeni Roses in full flow, and Amazing Grace FC finally breaking their duck, the title race and relegation battle are both heating up ahead of Week 8.
