Chikotesha Gets FIFA Women’s Champions League Appointment

Zambian Assistant FIFA Referee Diana Chikotesha continues to break new grounds with a fresh appointment for the inaugural FIFA Women’s Champions League to be held at the Wuhan Sports Centre Stadium in Wuhan China.

Chikotesha will six other African candidates namely referee Bouchra Karboubi (Morocco), assistant referee Carine Atezambong (Cameroun), Shamirah Nabadda (Uganda), Hamza El Fariq (Morocco) and Fathia Jermoumi (Morocco) who will be on VAR duties respectively.

The appointed officials will oversee a match between Asian champions Wuhan Jiangda WFC and the winners of this year’s OFC Women’s Champions League, Auckland United FC.

Whoever prevails in the contest will travel to Africa in round two to face the winners of the CAF Women’s Champions League.

The team that will triumph in this match will advance to the final phase, which is to be contested at a centralised venue.

The FIFA Women’s Champions League will see six continental club champions from the full season preceding the tournament vie to lift the coveted new trophy.

Chikotesha is a permanent fixture at Cosafa, CAF and FIFA tournaments and is currently the CAF Assistant Female Assistant Referee of the Year.
