Beston Chambeshi Takes Charge at Konkola Blades FC
Konkola Blades FC has set its sights on a revival with the appointment of seasoned coach Beston Chambeshi as the new head coach. The announcement comes after Chambeshi’s hiatus since late August, following his departure from Nkana FC.
Chambeshi, a familiar face in Zambian football, brings a wealth of experience to the Chililabombwe-based club. The veteran coach, renowned for leading the Zambia U-20 National Team to an AFCON title in 2017, is tasked with steering Konkola Blades to success by the end of the 2023/24 season.
In an official statement, Konkola Blades FC expressed their pleasure in welcoming Chambeshi to the technical team, emphasizing the coach’s mandate to turn the club’s fortunes around. The seasoned coach is no stranger to challenges, having served as Chipolopolo caretaker coach and leading the U-23 National Team.
The coaching staff sees a reshuffle with Enos Silwimba assuming the role of the first assistant coach, while Lewingtone Mujembe and John Munkonje take up positions as second assistants. This new coaching ensemble aims to work cohesively to achieve the desired results for Konkola Blades.
Speaking on his new role, Chambeshi exuded confidence in the team’s potential. Despite recent setbacks, he believes that with a united front and shared vision, Konkola Blades can climb the league table and reclaim a strong position.

The 63-year-old tactician has a track record that extends beyond club football. His success with the national teams, coupled with previous coaching stints at Power Dynamos and Kansanshi Dynamos, adds a strategic edge to his approach.
As Konkola Blades FC and its fans anticipate a new era under Chambeshi’s leadership, the veteran coach remains determined to guide the team to success. The journey to resurgence begins now, and football enthusiasts will be watching closely as Konkola Blades navigates the challenges of the MTN Super League with Chambeshi at the helm.
