AWCON Qualifiers on a slow start for the Copper Queens
Zambian women’s soccer team faced another rivals in an AWCON match after an impressive win over their all-time rivals South Africa in a friendly match. But today they faced a bigger side which must have been underestimated.
It was up against Namibia and the game started well with Zambian side making the most by pilling a lot of pressure on their opponents but towards the half hour mark, it was sluggish.
Even the second half the Zambian side kept on knocking on the doors of the Namibian side but could not break the dead lock. Despite making several changes but the girls could not find the back of the net.
At some point they almost lost it, and all efforts proved futile because they were just shooting wide. Though it was a scoreless, the girls stand a second shot at their opponents at their soil in a return match with no disadvantages.
Until then, it is Go Zambia!!! and hopefully they qualify for the AWCON
