Albert Kachinga Starts Kabwe Warriors Tenure with a 2-0 Victory
Kabwe Warriors returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Lumwana Radiants, marking a successful debut for newly appointed head coach Albert Kachinga. Goals from David Obashi (45′) and Francis Banda (70′) secured all three points as The Magnificent People’s Team ended a rough patch in the MTN Super League.
Coach Pleased with Victory, Seeks Further Improvement
Speaking after the match, Kachinga expressed satisfaction with the result, emphasizing that securing three points was crucial despite the limited time to prepare.
“It’s a good result. I think we’ve compensated for the three games that the team had lost. Being my first game, we didn’t have much time to prepare, but what we desired was three points, and we’ve gotten them.”
While pleased with the performance, the coach acknowledged that there is still work to be done, particularly in improving the team’s attacking efficiency.
“This match has given me a clear picture of the team. We need to improve in both defense and attack. I believe with more training sessions, we will continue getting better.”
Warriors Shift Focus to Upcoming Fixtures
With a busy schedule ahead, Kachinga emphasized the importance of strategic planning and squad rotation to maintain consistency in results.
“The schedule will be tough, but we have enough players to manage rotation. What is important is proper planning and taking each game as it comes.”
The victory provides a confidence boost for Warriors as they look to build momentum in the MTN Super League. Up next, Warriors will travel to face Mutondo Stars, aiming to extend their winning start under Kachinga’s leadership.
