ABSA Cup Last 16 Set as Heavyweights Enter
The 2026 ABSA Cup enters a decisive phase with the confirmation of all Round of 16 fixtures, setting up a compelling mix of top-flight contenders and ambitious underdogs across Kitwe and Lusaka.
The matches, scheduled for 4th and 5th April, will be staged at Nkana Stadium and Nkoloma Stadium, with eight ties set to determine the quarter-finalists.
At Nkana Stadium, Forest Myooye face a stern test against Mufulira Wanderers, while Mushitala Stars take on FC MUZA in a fixture that promises attacking intent from both sides.
Another key clash in Kitwe sees Roan United go head-to-head with Nchanga Rangers, while Nampundwe FC face one of the tournament favourites, Power Dynamos.
In Lusaka, Nkoloma Stadium will host four high-stakes encounters. Play It Forward meet Makeni All Stars, with both sides eyeing a potential breakthrough run in the competition.
Kafue Celtic will look to upset Zanaco FC, who enter the tie under pressure to assert their top-tier pedigree.
Elsewhere, Chirundu FC face Kabwe Warriors, while Zambezi Portland take on Red Arrows Football Club in what could be one of the standout fixtures of the round.
With places in the quarter-finals at stake, the Round of 16 is expected to deliver intense competition, tactical battles, and the ever-present possibility of cup upsets.
As the ABSA Cup gathers momentum, attention now shifts to whether the established giants will assert dominance or if emerging sides will continue to rewrite the script of this year’s tournament.
