ABSA Cup 2026: Power Dynamos Set Wanderers Semi
Power Dynamos have secured their place in the semi-finals of the 2026 ABSA Cup following a composed 2-0 victory over Nchanga Rangers at Nkoloma Stadium.
Goals from Moses Shumah and Dominic Chanda sealed the win for the Kitwe giants, with Chanda delivering an influential performance that earned him the Man of the Match award and a K15,000 cash prize.
Speaking exclusively to Bola Yapa Zed, Chanda expressed satisfaction with the team’s progress and ambition to go further.
“I’m happy that we have reached the semi-finals, and we hope we can go all the way and win the title because last time we were eliminated at this stage,” he said.
On his individual award, Chanda added: “I will share the money with my teammates.”
For Nchanga Rangers, assistant coach Israel Mwanza pointed to costly errors as the turning point in the match. He singled out captain Victor Chabu for both goals conceded.
On the first, Mwanza felt the goalkeeper should have come off his line but hesitated. He described the second goal as a similar lapse. Chabu was later substituted with Nchanga already two goals down.
Power Dynamos were the final team to book a place in the semi-finals and will now face Mufulira Wanderers, who edged FC MUZA 5-4 on post-match penalties in an earlier fixture at the same venue.
The other semi-final will see Red Arrows Football Club take on giant-killers Chirundu United, setting up a compelling final four in this year’s competition.
With the quarter-final stage now concluded, attention shifts to the semi-finals, where four teams remain in contention for a place in the ABSA Cup 2026 final.
