ZESCO Ndola Girls Clinch Historic Eden University Women’s Super League Title
ZESCO Ndola Girls Crowned Champions in Style
ZESCO Ndola Girls have etched their names in history by securing their first-ever Eden University Women’s Super League title in emphatic fashion. The team sealed the 2024-2025 championship with a commanding 3-0 victory over Choma Warriors Women at Independence Stadium in Choma.
The champions displayed their attacking prowess with goals from Marjory Mulenga, Penelope Mulubwa (penalty), and substitute Ruth Mukoma, ensuring a decisive win that confirmed their dominance in the league.
Unbeaten Streak and Record-Breaking Triumph
ZESCO Ndola Girls’ success is even more remarkable as they extended their unbeaten run to 29 league matches, securing the title with five games to spare. Their dominance throughout the campaign signals a major shift in women’s football, dethroning Green Buffaloes Women, who had reigned as league champions for the past four seasons.
This triumph marks a new era for ZESCO Ndola Girls, establishing them as a formidable force in Zambian women’s football.
Road to COSAFA Women’s Champions League
With their maiden league title now secured, ZESCO Ndola Girls will represent Zambia in the COSAFA Club Champions League, which serves as the qualifier for the CAF Women’s Champions League. This presents an opportunity for them to test their strength on the continental stage and further elevate their status in African women’s football.
As they celebrate this historic achievement, ZESCO Ndola Girls will now shift their focus to maintaining their unbeaten record and preparing for their debut in international club competitions.
